A Category List Derivative page is a place where the user is taken when he or she clicks a “Read More” button after having already read a well-rounded content module in the Cat list page. In other words, it’s a page that allows you to expand upon the subject in question with considerably lengthier and more detailed content. If you have requested this page, please keep in mind that it is not a content approach we recommend. First, because very few users will have the time to read it, and secondly because it will take them away from the Cat List page where the remaining content modules will be missed. Modules which may be more important to the overall messaging strategy than the detailed information in Derivative page(s). Although nothing keeps the reader from going back to the Cat List page, studies show that users tend to wrap up their site visit when a point of conclusion is reached. If you wish to proceed, recommended length is TWO paragraphs of 140 to 180 words each. (2b)
This is a support paragraph. By visually breaking-off from the main body copy, it can serve one of several practical purposes. It can be written as a summary by highlighting the most important points of the main body content (recommended), feature an example or situation related to the central point of that content, be written as a conclusion or closing statement, or serve as a place for a relatable testimonial (least-recommended). The suggested length for the support paragraph is 65 to 85 words. (3)
